Workable is a new coworking and shared office space in Nairobi’s Sanlam Tower. Workable is designed to a superior level of quality, matched with a concierge approach to the member experience. In partnership with internationally acclaimed architecture and design firm, Corgan, we bring a new level of work experience to Nairobi. We provide flexible, move-in work studios that eliminate the expensive and time-consuming leasing, design, and build-out process. Our spaces also facilitate compliance with new IFRS standards starting in January 2019

Job Purpose

A Community Associate is the first person guests and members meet when they arrive at Workable. Associates are friendly, well-rounded professionals who introduce guests and potential members to relevant products and services available at Workable. Associates also help members identify others in the Workable community whose interests might overlap, and makes appropriate introductions.

Community Associates will describe the different offices (studios) that are available, and what the membership rates are. Associates will provide tours of Workable for guests interested in memberships, meeting rooms, or the cafe at Connect Coffee. They will serve as point-of-contact for renting lockers, overseeing the print/fax/scan station, ensuring that the AV equipment is operating smoothly, and that all other equipment is checked in and out properly. Associates help maintain a high level of cleanliness throughout the space

Key Responsibilities


  • Greet visitors/ members at reception
  • Answer phone and field questions about the business
  • Provide concierge service for members, checking equipment in and out
  • Sell memberships/offices and meeting rooms, handle transactions (via credit card and the web portal)
  • Assist members and guests in setting up WiFi, printing, and other services
  • Troubleshoot minor technology problems
  • Familiarize yourself with members to anticipate their needs
  • Maintain a clean workspace environment, empty trash, and maintain clean surfaces
  • Prep meeting rooms between bookings
  • Assist with community events and public events
  • Liaise with cafe staff to coordinate food and beverage service for meeting rooms


  • Educated to the bachelor’s degree level
  • 2+ years of experience in hospitality, service, or office environment
  • Technology proficiency sufficient to process payments through web portal
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Proficient in Google Docs Suite
  • Outgoing, people-oriented person
  • Flexible, adaptable working style
  • Values honesty and transparency
  • Strong sense of hospitality
  • Highly organized and prompt in delivering work
  • Energetic and positive attitude
