Sales Representatives
Mini Bakeries, incorporated in 1983, with its roots in Mombasa, is the company behind the successful Supa Loaf brand. The company was established with the key objective of manufacturing and distributing various ranges of bread and has become a market leader over the last three decades. The manufacture and distribution of baked goods throughout Kenya and more recently Tanzania and Uganda are an important element of the group’s core expertise. The steady growth of the East African economies has influenced modern retailing trends and Supa Loaf can be found in supermarkets, dukas and kiosks in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
The Sales Representative serves as the primary frontline sales professional, responsible for direct customer engagement, product merchandising, and day-to-day sales execution within an assigned route or territory. This position focuses on building strong customer relationships, ensuring excellent product representation and achieving daily sales targets through effective selling activities.

Key Duties/Responsibilities
- Coordinate and execute day-to-day sales activities between the Company and customers, including order processing, delivery confirmation, and payment collection
- Follow established route plans and customer visit schedules, maximizing productive selling time while ensuring coverage of all assigned accounts.
- Achieve and exceed daily sales targets by implementing effective selling methodologies that persuade customers to purchase products.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with personnel through regular visits, professional interactions, and responsive service.
- Implement high merchandising standards with precision in all assigned accounts, ensuring proper product placement, promotional displays, and brand presentation.
- Remove damaged, expired, or substandard products from sales floors, processing returns according to company policies.
- Respond promptly to customer feedback to maintain satisfaction and loyalty among assigned accounts. Gather and relay the feedback to appropriate internal stakeholders.
- Track consumer reactions to new products and promotional offers providing feedback to inform future sales and marketing strategies.
- Identify potential new customers, sales channels, and business opportunities within the assigned territory, sharing recommendations with the Area Sales Manager.
- Maintain close contact with Shop Attendants, Turnboys, and Drivers who support sales operations, ensuring alignment on objectives and adherence to service standards.
- Prepare and submit required reports according to established schedules.
- Collaborate with operations teams to optimize route efficiency, delivery timing, and territory coverage.
- Document key performance metrics.
Academic and Professional Qualifications and experience required
- Diploma in a relevant field (Sales, Marketing) preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar position in the FMCG category, preferably with direct store delivery or route sales background.
- Professional qualification in sales, marketing, or related field would be an added advantage.
- Demonstrated success in field sales, customer relationship management, and merchandising implementation.

- Strong product knowledge with ability to effectively communicate features, benefits, and value propositions to diverse customer audiences.
- Effective selling skills including; needs identification, benefit articulation, objection handling, and closing techniques.
- Strong relationship-building skills that establish trust, credibility, and partnership with customer personnel at multiple levels.
- Effective communication abilities, both verbal and written, that support accurate reporting.
- Creative problem-solving capabilities that address sales challenges, customer concerns, and operational issues with practical solutions.
- High degree of personal integrity, professional ethics, and commitment.
